Colorado Grocery Worker Named Finalist in a Nationwide Store Leader Contest

Adam Thao, store manager at King Soopers in Erie, Colorado, is one of the finalists for the prestigious nationwide Store Leader contest organized by FMI – The Food Industry Association. Out of 180 store managers from various retail outlets nationwide, 12 have been selected as the 2024 Store Manager Awards finalists. Colorado King Soopers shoppers can vote for Adam all this week. ​ 

Adam's journey to the finals is a testament to his exceptional leadership skills and unwavering dedication to excellence in the retail sector. Managing a King Soopers store, the sole supermarket within a 10-minute drive in Erie, Colorado, Adam has successfully navigated the challenges of steering a high-volume operation amidst a surge in population.

With a keen focus on communication and teamwork, Adam leads a team of 240 associates, serving an average of 35,000 shoppers weekly. His commitment to daily huddles, regular listening sessions, and leading by example on the sales floor has fostered a culture of positivity and collaboration within his team.

Grocery shoppers at King Soopers are encouraged to voice their support for Adam during this week. Their votes via the attached QR code will showcase their appreciation for his outstanding leadership and demonstrate the community's solidarity behind a local leader who has consistently gone above and beyond to serve their needs.
